Violin maker in Paris. Brother of Guillaume, father to Charles Adolphe and Charles Nicolas Eugène, pupil of and successor to Nicolas Lupot, successor to Jean Gabriel Koliker.

Chrales François Gand is the most famous of the Gand violin makers and one of the most respected French violin makers of all time. He is also said to have been a good violinist himself.
