The Music Workshop

The basic idea

The basic idea is actually quite simple. For each tune there is a two-part arrangement, a three-part arrangement and a four part arrangement (often with an optional fifth part added).
Then there are optional accompagniment parts for varius instruments at various difficulty levels and usually some "beginners parts" for strings.
Finally there are lots of solo arrangements for various instruments with or without accompagniment.

And - and this is the real beauty of it all: you can mix the different arrangements of the same tune any way you like! Just remember that at least one of the arrangements has to be complete and that you have to keep some sensible balance between the parts.

Special orders

Confused?
Just read the help files, and try it out yourself, and it'll become much clearer.

Or - conatct me and I'll write an arrangement of one of the Music Workshop titles specially adapted for your ensemble. Not for free, of course, but since much of the job is already done, I can keep the price far lower than what'd you expect to pay for a specially adapted arrangement. A typical price for an ensemble with 5-10 instruments is aaround $10.

Missing midis?

Woops!
Seems some of the Music Workshop files are listed as having midi files while they in fact haven't.
Sorry about that. I guess I'll have to go through all the pieces and either add midi files or remove the midi links. Might take a while, though. We're talking more than 2000 files here, and after the midi files are an extra bonus, not the main issue here at Musica Viva.
