Musical instruments content at Musica Viva

There is a lot of content related to different musical instruments all over this site:
Sheet music for various instruments
Go to The Free Sheet Music Archives for a list of instruments represented in the Musica Viva sheet music archives.
Instrument gallery
There are pictures of and information about thousands of musical instruments of all kinds and of all times at the Musica Viva Instrument Gallery
Which instrument to buy - and where to buy them
Take a look at the Musica Viva Buyer's Guide.
General information
General information about different kinds of instruments are found at the Musica Viva Encyclopedia.
Family tree
Musical instruments don't really lead a orderly family life - they keep cross-breeding all the time! But at least the Musica Viva Instruments Family Tree tries to crete order out of chaos!

My other instrument related sites

As if all that wasn't enough, I'm also running a series of small sites dedicated to specific instruments and music styles:
My own music store
  • Journeyman (in Norwegian). A place where Norwegian musicians can find the things regular Norwegian music stores don't sell. I do take international orders too but shipping costs can be a bit too high.
Mandolins etc.
I'm running two mandolin sites:
  • Mandolin Player. My "general purpose" mando site. Lots of information about all kinds of mandolins and related instruments.
  • Blues Mandolin. As the title says.
Guitars
No less than four guitar sites - although to be honest one is just a Norwegian version of the other and two of them are still rather void of actualy content.
  • Online Guitarist. All kinds of info about all kinds of guitars.
  • Franks Gitarsider (in Norwegian). Basically a Norwegian version of Online Guitarist although both sites include content not found at the other.
  • The Blues Guitar. Perhaps I shouldn't have mentioned it. I haven't had time to actually add much content to it. But one day I will!
  • The Slide Guitar. Yet another site I really should do more about. Someday I will.
Banjos
Three sites:
  • Irish Banjo. I'm proud to say this has become the internet resoruce for everybody interested in Irish (and other European) style banjo playing.
  • The Blues Banjo. The blues and the banjo are brothers and grew up together. Time for them to meet again!
  • Folk Banjo. Just a place to put all the banjo content that wouldn't fit my other two banjo sites really.
Lutes and other historic stringed instruments
Harmonica
  • The Blues Harmonica. Not as the title says! Info about the harmonica in all different kinds of music - including a few I bet you didn't think of.
